Getting Words on the Page with Elise Esther Hearst

31 July 2024
Wednesday 6.30–8pm
Jewish Museum of Australia

Do you want to write but feel that you don’t know how, are stuck or out of practice?

Join award-winning playwright, author and performer Elise Esther Hearst for a fun and practical writing workshop.

Observing objects can be a great way to make discoveries, develop ideas and collect details that will enrich your writing enormously. Objects carry stories, histories. They have particular uses and misuses. They make us feel things and tell us a lot about ourselves and each other.

Using objects on display throughout the JMA’s galleries as prompts, you will write in short bursts without judgement or critique. You will get words on the page and have fresh material to work with for new or existing projects.

Whether you just want some writing company, some inspiration or even a chance to try something new, this workshop is for you.

Open to all genres at all levels. Beginners welcome.
