Programs for Teachers
The Museum can organise a day of challenges and new experiences delivered by highly professional educators in a friendly and safe environment. Programs are accredited by the Catholic Education Office of Melbourne and teachers can also use these Professional Development hours to comply with the requirements of the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
The Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians recognises the fundamental role that education plays in building a society that is “cohesive and culturally diverse, and that values Australia’s Indigenous cultures”. The Jewish Museum of Australia is dedicated to contributing to and supporting this visionary goal.
Join the Museums of Multicultural Museums Victoria – the Chinese Museum, Co.As.It Italian Historical Society & Museo Italiano, Hellenic Museum, Islamic Museum of Australia, and Jewish Museum of Australia – for a collaborative learning day Friday 8 May.
Designed to support the ethical capability unit within the new Victorian Curriculum, this program helps teachers introduce students to different religions and world views. A range of relevant precepts are also introduced, which can include those from the five most common religions, along with a secular world view representation of humanism and rationalism.
We can tailor a day of learning and stimulation on a number of topics for you and your staff including academic programs, Museum tours, open conversations with community members, an incredible lunch, sweet treats and food tasting.
