The Timeline of Jewish History gallery reveals how Jews have existed continuously in our historic and spiritual homeland, Israel – but also how we have been a part of other societies at different times.

What ties us together is a common belief structure which frames the values to which we adhere – this determines how we live our lives and informs our unique identity.

Artist Heather Ellyard created the artworks in this gallery; they acknowledge the Wurundjeri people upon whose land the Museum stands, and capture the imaginings and longings of the Jewish people from the beginnings of civilisation until today.
