Discover the ‘push and pull’ factors that influenced waves of Jewish migration to Australia through stories and histories captured in the Jewish Museum of Australia Collection. Analyse a selection of artefacts to unpack journeys of migration and their impact on ritual, culture and faith. Look inward to reflect on personal family history and influences.

Learning Objectives 

• Compare ‘push and pull’ factors that have contributed to the migration of Jewish people to Australia. 
• Identify individual narratives of migration using primary sources and contextualise these within the larger Australian migration story. 
• Analyse the cultural practices of newly arrived Jewish migrants.
