Tikkun Olam: Our Global Responsibility

20 June 2024
Thursday 6–8pm
Learning Centre, Jewish Museum of Australia

The Hebrew phrase tikkun olam describes a desire to ‘mend the world’, and research shows that Millennials and Gen Z are more socially conscious than ever. But how can we come together to lead and create change? How can we improve our world?

Enjoy a free glass of wine and earthed conversation between young Jewish leaders Steph Hausman (The Joint/JDC) and Charlotte Eizenberg (Jewish Museum of Australia/JMA) exploring global Jewish responsibility and the impactful work young Jews are doing across the world. Learn about the Entwine Insider Trips offering young people opportunities to travel overseas to witness the important humanitarian work of the JDC.

Join us for a night at the Museum with inspiring conversation, social connection, live music and exclusive after-hours access to the JMA’s latest exhibition Where We Are featuring artworks by internationally acclaimed artist Andrew Rogers.

Win a $500 grant from Entwine
Only available to attendees of this special event at the JMA, the team at Entwine are thrilled to be able to offer a $500 grant to one lucky guest who applies for and is accepted into one of their incredible upcoming Insider Trips.

About The Joint and Entwine

Entwine is building a generation of young Jews who lead and live a life of action with global Jewish responsibility at its core. They are an initiative of The Joint (JDC), the largest Jewish humanitarian organisation in the world. Through their programs, trips, and fellowships, Entwine participants learn about JDC’s life-saving work and visit the communities their work impacts.

The Joint brought over 40,000 refugees to Australia after World War Il and helped build the foundation of the Jewish community. We reestablished our presence in Australia in 2012 and continue to support JDC’s global efforts.
