Panel Discussion – exile, loss & motherhood: exploring Medea

3 February 2019
Sunday 2pm
Jewish Museum of Australia

Come along to this fascinating panel discussion about the rituals associated with mourning, in collaboration with Footscray Community Arts Centre. The subject is inspired by our artist-in-residence Deborah Leiser-Moore’s performance piece – M: Kaddish for the Children. Her performance uses the Greek mythological figure, Medea, to explore exile and loss. In this feminist version she is given voice to mourn these losses.

The discussion will be MC’d by Bernadette Fitzgerald, Program Manager at Footscray Community Arts Centre, and speakers include Deborah Leiser-Moore, Prof. Peta Tait, La Trobe Uni academic and playwright, editor of Kaddish: Women’s Voices Barbara Ashkenas, as well as a First Nations community member.
