Diversity and argument have always been part of the canvas of Judaism – a canvas framed and unified by a common set of beliefs and assumptions.

Yet, with the advent of modernity, that frame has disappeared, with Judaism characterised by fragmentation and debate around practice and truth.

In this course, we will explore how this manifested itself in the many faces of Judaism over the course of the twentieth century.
