Born in Paris in 1949, Nicole Newman has resided in Australia since 1951. She has studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Victorian College of the Arts where she received a post-graduate degree. Since 1972 she has participated in four solo exhibitions and twelve group exhibitions, including "Dame Edna Regrets She is Unable to Attend", a touring exhibition to Australian regional centres. Her work is in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, and the State Bank Centre, Adelaide.
