Shemot 2.6Mb'I am here – I am here– I am  life, eternal life.’ [Viktor Frankl,
Man’s Search for Meaning]

              Va Yishlach  2Mb
Va Yishlach literally means "and he sent". This painting portrays the story of Jacob struggling with an angel sent by God to test his strength. Jacob wins the contest but is left with a permanent limp.

           Chayei-Sarah 2.3mb
Chayei Sarah, or "the life of Sarah", is the Torah portion that tells the story of the death of Sarah, Abraham's wife, at the age of 127.

Recognised as one of Australia’s most prominent painters, Melbourne artist, Victor Majzner has produced an extraordinary new body of work. Paintig the Torah is an ambitious and beautiful expression in watercolour of every Parshat Hashavua (weekly Torah portion). Painted over a six-year period, these paintings are imbued with literal narratives as well as Jewish symbolic and Kabbalistic content.

Majzner illustrates stories from the Torah from an Australian Jewish perspective. The works are rich with colour, and local flora and fauna. Frilly lizards, goannas, parrots, cockatoos, nakes – even the outback blowfly feature in these glorious paintings; set against the Pilbarra, Mt Tom Price, and other Australian outback landmarks.
