Overview
The permanent and temporary exhibitions at the Jewish Museum of Australia  offer a range of educational opportunities that respond creatively to the needs of the school curriculum. Dealing with issues of identity, tradition, life cycles, festivals and ritual, the  Jewish Museum provides a hands-on exploration of the strands of culture, place and space, time, continuity and change, which will be cornerstones of the new VELS (Victorian Essential Learning Standards)s program. These topics are relevant for current VCE studies of Religion and Society, and Text and Traditions, English, the Arts, SOSE and more. As a gallery space also for contemporary artists, the Museum has the potential to stimulate and improve visual literacy for art students from primary to VCE level.
